Linda sold about 40 millions pure albums in US, and her top2 album according to MJD's Woman's Day articles, sold under 20 millions CSPC, her total maybe be under 70 millions for her not so good singles and streams figures
And she is no way biggest female solo act of 70s, Barbra sold over twice more pure album sales than her
And Linda's wordwide pure album sales was about 60 millions in MJD last Fan of music estimate, as for other female artists's differences between former site and now this, her pure albums sales should be lower than 55 millions in a world scale.
Much more classics than Celine, taylor and mariah and is more influential than? Her top3 streams singles combined account for near 60%of her total, and Ain’t No Mountain High Enough was so much less than the original version. And Albums and singles both be regard s classic records. She maybe more influential in US long ago,but not now and worldwide
But we can compare ASR score, her ASR score is 166, ranking even lower among divas than in CSPC list.
Top 10 female artists:

Britney Spears 116m
Rihanna 115m
I know she'll probably never get an analysis because her discography is just insanely big but do you think nana mouskori sold over 100 million albums? According to discogs she has over 450 studio albums and compilations, so she would need an average of around 220k sales to reach that number, not counting physical singles which were probably huge too since she has so many singles
No, more like 30m albums. She's in the requests leaderboard actually with a weighting of "1", which I believe means a projected CSPC total of less than 50m but with an album at 15m+.
U might be right but i have read many articles seeing her as biggest female artist of 70s who was also first female stadium act. She was first to ship three million albums in week in USA. Barbara sold in every decade and hence the overall best selling female artist who debuted before 80s. I meant specific decade here.
She isn't mote influential than them. Taylor has influenced whole new generation. Mariah celine influence whole reality show concept. Classics? Taylor has many too. Mariah celine have signature songs too. Jake and his theories
Wow! She sold a lot! Like Cher, many of her studio album didn't go pretty well but the total amount is over 100 million records. Hope Diana fans vote for Cyndi Lauper to be studied next time.
Amazing work as always. Now i wish we could learn something about other classic divas like Olivia Newton,Dolly Parton,Donna Summer,Linda Ronstadt and Gloria Estefan too.
You can vote for those divas in the request section if you wish to see their totals
What I see on some sites like Discogs is that versions released in different countries of the same album are counted as if they were another album. The difference, most of the time, is that the album released in France comes with songs in French, the one released in Spain comes with the same songs, but sung in Spanish and so on. I don't consider this a new album. This singer has many compilations and albums in general, but you don't see her name as much on the charts. On Wikipedia, it was difficult to find her certificates to add to the article, she practically doesn't have any. This story that she sold more than 100 million records worldwide seems quite surreal. It definitely needs to be studied by Chartmasters, in the same way as Bing Crosby, who is said to have sold 1 billion!
