Hi Geraldine!

I would suggest you to check the data like Soundscan rather than simply assuming that sales keep climbing at an heavy pace once the promotion of an album is over!

MJD , one more thing, check this, Did u know Usher sold 274 M units in Australia alone??? He received a plaque last year in October during his stadium tour in Australia. If u did not know about that it means that u really dont know much about his sales abroad.

Wow, let me update all the data so that he tops the Beatles! 🙂

Come on Geraldine, believing everything you read won't make you any favor. Arguying Here I Stand sold 6 million pure units is like arguying the temperature last week reached 100° in France, or that I ran a 100 meters in 4 seconds. That doesn't even make sense!

Hey MJD. I'm 2 yrs late but is it safe to say by combining Usher digital songs sales with his album sales he's over 150 millions in total sales??

He actually has sold over 274 million units in Australia alone. There's a picture of him receiving the plaque. If you don't believe me, here it is:

I'm sorry if you don't believe Geraldine but he (or she lol) is right. There's a whole picture to prove it. He received a plaque for it. And your count is wrong. My Way and 8701 have both sold over 8 million copies worldwide in pure sales. Confessions sold over 10 million copies in the US and over 20 million worldwide. Recently I read that it has sold 12 million in the US, so it might be at around 25 worldwide now. Here I Stand is also double platinum and has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, and that was numbers back in 2009/10 so it's sold more overtime now just like the rest of his albums. RvR is also certified platinum and sold 2 or 3 million worldwide. He's also a huge singles artist, but he hasn't recertified his singles stats in a good 10 or 12 years, maybe even 15. IDK what it is, but him Beyoncé and Janet haven't certified their sells in forever and are all a good 40-50 million behind certification wise. And someone else posted with picture and proof that he's sold 274 million units in Australia alone. You really need to redo this lol. Usher is a huge artist not only in the US but worldwide with a humungous international fanbase. In Africa and Australia, they see him on MJ level, screaming, crying, and even fainting at his concerts lol. There are several artists you also need to go back and update/redo tbh. I hope this helps, and I didn't mean to come across as mean, just direct lol.

Geraldine, you're not wrong at all. Those numbers are straight from Billboard. They even said that Confessions sold over 20M worldwide at the end of 2009 in their artists of the decade list for the 2000s, and when you check RIAA.com, they list the album was certified diamond way back on November 7, 2008. The album has likely sold 11 or 12 M in the US at this point.
(Link to Billboard article: https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/266420/artists-of-the-decade)

And RvR has most likely sold way more than 1M in the US and 2M worldwide because those numbers are from June 17, 2010, just under 3 months after the album came out. Here I Stand sold over 2M in the US and over 6M worldwide in 2009 so those numbers likely increased in 2010, especially with the monster hits from Raymond v Raymond.

Looking at RIAA.com, Usher's 8701 was certified 4x platinum on July 26, 2002 just under a year after release. It has likely reached the 10 M mark worldwide and sold over 5 M, maybe even 6 or 7M in pure sales in the US.

His album My Way was certified 6x platinum on May 24, 2000, and had sold over 8 million worldwide as well. At that point, the album was selling about 1 M copies every 6 to 8 months in the US so it has likely sold 7 or 8 million in the US and def over 10 M worldwide in pure sales. (That timeframe and math was dine looking at his certification dates on RIAA.com)

Usher also hasn't certified hits like OMG, There Goes My Baby, DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love, Trading Places, Without You, Lemme See... He certified barely any of his hits from the 2010s and this site says he sold over 150 million records worldwide, which means if you go to RIAA.com and look at his certifications, he's still really far behind in the US as he only has certified about 45 million total. He likely is closer to 175 M or 200M worldwide and 75 or 80 M in the US cuz not only is he very far behind in his RIAA certifications, but this site also said they missed countries and I guess you forgot that albums continue to sale after a year.

Thanks though cuz this does give us a ballpark for where he's at, but you did under-do (if that's even a word) Usher by a lot of records. I guess we'll have to wait for Usher himself to recertify to get anywhere near a perfect count of where his sales are at.

Remember that this site is not about records, it is about CSPC.

true, but pure sales is part of the CSPC total. I was just saying what was on the Billboard and RIAA website, which (hopefully) isn't wrong. I don't think this site would be 100% accurate about everything either since MJD does admit to not having all the sources and sales from each country and doesn't update every artists's CSPC total on a regular basis

yes. he's also off by quite a bit with the album sales (see riaa and billboard) so yes has sold over 150 million records worldwide, and he's also sold over 75 million in the US, but he hasn't certified anything since 2010 and even then, a lot of his 2000s wok is under certified and almost none of his 2010s work is certified either. He really does not care about his numbers lol

According to chart data, 8701 has sold over 13 million copies worldwide. They tweeted it a while back but deleted it. I can't find the tweet or any screenshots of it though.

Hi Charles J Cook / beast44 / jeremy!

You have been posting again and again (and through different accounts) insanely delusional claims about Usher (274m units in Australia, Confessions over 20m, HIS at 6m, 8701 at 13m, etc), often stating that even these numbers are "outdated, likely higher now". It's closer to trolling than participating at this point. Repeating a gross lie won't make it true. Hundreds of fact are here, official data cover these albums too, and everything show how wrong your claims are, so what's your point? If you are only looking at hardcore stanning, I'll simply start moving your comments into the spam section.
