Are you going to do a CSPC analysis of Muse soon? You have done so in the past when when a group/artist releases a new album and Muse release their new album Simulation Theory tomorrow.
Andrea Bocelli's new album is #1 in the US. His Romanza record was a huge seller : he may deserve a whole CSPC article, don't you think ?
Hi Christoffer!
Sadly a Muse CSPC isn't on the books. Paul McCartney (winner of the last poll) and Bjork (from the winner of the prediction game) are still to come and then we may focus on artists with truly big albums missing like Garth Brooks, CCR, Doors, etc.
Hi Rell!
Yes, very possibly. It must be said that Romanza was a compilation (it is often believed to be a studio album because in various countries that was his breakthrough), so in terms of CSPC he may not have 1 *that* big album, but he definitely is a great seller!
Maybe you can have two sperate request lists - one for post 2000 acts and one for older acts?
It appears the current format for requests favours younger acts?
Would be keen for an Iron Maiden analysis - but would be difficult given their multiple labels and below the radar catalogue sales?
Hi dear MJD and your staff,I would like to know when Paul McCartney 's CSPC analysis is ready, it's been almost a month since Ed Sheran missing a CSPC article
Hi Alan!
I think that most younger acts are covered. From now on, we will mostly focus on classic acts. As soon as the Spotify-rewind articles are done we will post Paul McCartney, then Bjork, then the likes Luis Miguel / CCR / Doors, etc.
A few recent ones are still needed, say James Blunt who've got one of the biggest albums of the 00s, but then updates are more relevant for them. For example it makes more sense to update Eminem than to post Paramore. That's how we will articule the next months, classic acts for new artists and updates for recent ones.
Hi Pepper!
CSPC articles have been put on a hold while completing Spotify's lists. These are important as they help identifying the big omissions as well as various records. As soon as we go back to CSPC articles, Macca's one will be the first posted (it is started already).
How about the Jimi Hendrix Experience? Total CSPC must be fairly high with all of the various music videos, greatest hits collections etc even though there were only the three original studio albums in the 60s.
Also, some of the big Motown greats - Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Temptations, Supremes
Hi,
Would be nice to have an update of all artists studied in 2016.
And for new acts:
Tina Turner, TLC, Toni Braxton, The Coors, The supreme, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Kate Bush, The Carpenters, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Julio Iglesias, Tokyo Hotel, Lara Fabian, Mylene Farmer, Francis Cabrel, Jean-Jacques Goldman, France Gall, Nana Mouskouri, Mireille Mathieu, Edith Piaf, Dalida, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Boys II Men, Marilyn Manson, Garth Brook, Sheryl Crow, Sting, The Police, Rod Stewardt, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Sheena Ringo...
Some might be tricky to study but we hear so often rubbish numbers for them (Mouskouri, Dalida, Mathieu...) that it would be nice to be able to clarify it.
Hey, I was just wondering if you were planning on completing a global heat map for Celine Dion? On top of that, do you think it's possible that her next english album (releasing 2019) could sell 1 million or more? Thanks
Hi,
This isn't an artist request but a subject one. Billboard has been in a lot of fire this year because of label's shady "bundle" practices, so I am wondering if you can do an article assessing the problem, giving your opinions and potentially coming up with a solution.
Thanks!
Donna Summer, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Ricky Martin
update Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Celine Dion
Dalida would be beyond amazing too, but it might take way too much time since she has so many songs. She scored smash hits from the 50's to the 80's, so she deserves to be analyzed on this wonderful website !
I mean, the "Gold", "Platinum" AND "Diamond" certifications were created for her in France! She has so many classics...
(sorry for the triple post) she has sold +140m records, so she totally deserves to be analyzed. Thank you for you amazing work !
