I'm not sure but I believe "Discipline" is not available on Spotify (at least in some countries) because of issues with her, at the time, label. Therefore, I assume that's why the album doesn't appear in Spotify's streaming tally.

You're correct, our Spotify system uses a user, which is based in France where I live. Here, Discipline isn't available on Spotify! Hopefully that will be sorted as soon as the issues are treated!

Per capita based on amount of music released, press/marketing done, $$ collected/earned, ownership of masters, and yes - her music is extremely timeless due to avant garde innovative production from JJ & TL and its getting that recognition now bc well, the 2nd most powerful mogul sent out a hit on her and had her "erased" and barred from things - Janet might be tops. Id say the big females except Enya - have done maybe 2-3 - in madonna's terms - 500x - of publicity, press, marketing, endorsements, interviews, products blah blah blah...madonna is the queen bc she damn earned it. Janet disappeared for years in between projects. And when she was "erased" in 2004 she decided to let it go and not fight and just low key do her thing. Its why shes so healthy, happy, and coasting on her $200m net worth and constant fan base. Who does a 70 date tour with practically zero press in 2017/2018? And in arenas? With about $70m earned and in shrewd fashion, a not over the top production which focused on her? Janet. She has never wanted to be number one. Its not worth it. That experience understanding the industry since 7 prob has kept her away from falling into traps of MJ, Prince and Whitney (who left a measly $25m estate off way more album sales). She also owns her masters. And lastly, Madonna...this is where I get a bit perplexed at the queen having a massive age crisis while Janet still looks great. We could see this mature period of her post 50s in a much better position than Madge who - if you're great, you dont need to remind the world. And not sure why she decided to look so plastic and try to be young when she doesn't need to. Its a pity. Janets music was innovative esp her albums' work as a whole - the sounds were all new in 86, 89, 93, 97 and even 01. They were then diluted and made more mainstream by the Britneys and Boy bands and Abdul and the tons of 1-2 offs. Even JT, if you catch how he sings, he sings like Janet, not MJ. And how funny is it with true artistry and actual dance choreography - something no one can come close to peak Janet (peak Janet would wipe the floor with peak Beyonce.. dancing wise...and I won't get into "art"). But Bey is the queen now even though id like to see her diversify and not be so urban.

Back to my initial point: if you enjoy Dance, artistry, humanity, and watching something that still hasn't been replicated -- you like Janet. And she has done the absolute least peddling of any superstar in history. No drugs, no rehab, no bad behavior...just an accident at age 37. Theres a depth to her lyrics thats not touched by most - Madonna's lyrics may be the most basic on earth. And whats funny...Gaga's lyrics are almost the same level of basicness. But...she created some damn good melodies. Madonna and Janet are such gifts to women, gays, human beings and pop music and performance. And the legion they influenced. No wonder music award shows dont pull in viewers anymore, no one dances or does anything special besides Beyonce. Like why bother doing choreo if its so bland and basic? And why hasn't the next dance focused superstar emerged? I mean no one post Britney who peaked at 23? 7 years in the business? Surely by now someone would have emerged...but nope. Thats the problem with idol and YouTube - these folks aren't true artists. Theyre karaoke artists with great voices. And lazy.

Literally no other two siblings who individually attained pinnacle status in their careers of an industry besides...idk, the Williams sisters in Tennis? I mean, literally theres no siblings of that stature. And for her to come out of shadows that has never happened...its a feat. as Janet would say, Jermaine had a better voice, Randy was a better dancer (or one of the others), Rebbie and Toya prettier -- but no, the true actual artists beasts - MJ and Janet. Their music is quite different. MJ is an alien god who will be forever with us with his big hits. Janet is someone whose entire albums you'll listen to and understand the depth. Her best aren't even her big hits. But theyre not competing. And if they were, as a fan, Janet is still here performing and gifting us with music and tours. Im glad my higher faith was with the right Jackson.

Her RN tour was and still is highest attended debut tour in history. Her 7 top 5 in us singles for RN still untouched? Her streak of 18 consecutive top ten hits in a row...still untouched? 1st female grammy nominee for producer of year in history? 1st black female for ...too many. a lot of people on here are weird AF. Theres no competition, all these artists are wonderful. But dont diminish Janet bc you dont "get" her. Its rude and ignorant.
why did she make more money, WAY MORE, per album, per project than a lot of these folks? Billboard literally did an artist over 30 years and Janet ruled in 90 and 93 or was one of only a handful that was the number one artist of that respective year in NA.
Shes a dance, performance artist and between 2004 and 2015 she was essentially erased and shut out of the mainstream. She also didnt fight it, disappeared for at least half those years, no press, no digital push until maybe 5-7 years ago, social media less long ago, and no press.

Madonna/Madge - Celine is a singer singer and Mariah is a singer singer/songwriter. They dont dance. Mariahs voice is pretty on off now. how can u compare bland mainstream music meant for worldwide audiences - Celine - to cutting edge stuff from madonna and Janet who were pushing envelopes also with sexuality. Janet brought unabashed sexuality to mainstream for black women. no one did before at such stature. who started the midriff, abs craze women donned mid90s - 2000s? who? ur just a lemming who fell for the "erasing" that was done to her and base stupid metrics to diminish her. shes easily one of the most successful artists in history. one of the greats. I love all the artists mentioned and goes to show how lucky the 80s and 90s were with the beast artists. Did you know between Mariah, Janet, Madonna and Whitney - bw 84-96 - the women occupied almost 40% of all number ones (or top tens) for that entire period. those 4. 12 years. They ruled. now that would be an amazing show - bringing the 3 that are alive for some sort of show.
who gives a f about streams? she doesn't. and its amazing to see she has grown from like 4m to 6m+ monthly listeners on Spotify in the past couple years. she literally started social media in like 2017. whats crazy is why was she paid so much breaking records during "big 4" era...janet was always in the convo btw, but as she always did, she did things her way. its simply astounding the amount she made, tours and all, and what she sold given her private nature.
I bet you Janet at 60 will be better looking, more vivacious, a better artist and touring act than embarrassing queen Madge right now. these two aren't quitting. lets see how the final act plays out. and I love madonna. I love all queens. and Janet will be always known as the best female dancer superstar in history still unrivaled.
