Hi Hanyong,
I was gonna say I'm pretty sure Celine has outranked U2 due to sales acquired after the Billboard Music Awards 2017, Encore Un Soir album, a little boost on It's All Coming Back To Me Now as the song is used in the Applebee commercial, a decent youtube view boost on Beauty and The Beast due to the live movie, the sales/streams of How Does A Moment Last Forever, etc.
But U2 currently has a worldwide tour and is promoting the 14th album "songs of experience" released on December 2017 which according to IFPI has sold more than 1.3 million pure albums. The album has sold more than EUS and definitely has streamed more because it's an english album.
We just need Celine to release her upcoming english album and after 1 month, Celine surely will outrank U2. 1 million pure album sales is a guarantee plus the asia tour that will help boost the sales, im actually expecting her upcoming english album to sell more than 2 million pure album sales. And if we get a new Celine hit song, the album is going to sell a lot more.
The question though is if Celine is going to release an English album soon. Hopefully this year, the earlier the better, right fellow Celine fan?
In order for a soundtrack to be owned by an artist they have to contribute 60% of the material to that album. In the example of Madonna where did 6 songs and helped to produce and write some of them too, she contributed to the majority of the album. Celine lending her vocals to 1 track doesn't suffice her owning the soundtrack. Also, the movie broke blockbuster numbers and helped Celine more than vice versa.
Hi RLAAMJR!
On their December 5, 1998, the Billboard changed its rule to allow airplay-only singles. This adjustment happened because more and more hits had no physical release in order to fuel album sales.
I'm Your Angel was released and debuted at #1 on that precise week. That's why it isn't considered a proper #1 debut, because it would have charted on the back of airplay only in the weeks prior to its entry inside the Hot 100!
Hi Marcelo, just check the 8th post/comment of this article to get the answer.
Ashes by Celine Dion, soundtrack to Deadpool 2 movie. It is strong enough to enter the us billboard hot 100. the question is how high can it go? Top 50 at least? I actually want a top 10 for at least one week.
I really cried with joy when I saw that "Ashes " song is trending worldwide. Celine never got much attention than I guess since A New Day Has Come album. Maybe it's too early to say Ashes is bigger than her cover of "Alone" but I really am already happy that Ashes already did better than I have expected. Still trending on the second day is like a bonus to me already. To get inside the us billboard hot 100 at least once is a huge thing for me already. And i hope it will do better than what i expect.
I hope this will be a huge hit soundtrack song for Celine. The movie itself really really helps the song/music video to be bigger, rather than Celine making the song bigger. So i really thank the Deadpool team for choosing Celine.
I really hope the music video will continue to trend for at least a month or two and win a grammy and and oscar.
And i hope Celine will be cast as a character in Deadpool 3 or in future xmen movies. Celine can act. You watch her music video "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" and you'd say she can really act.
And hopefully the Disney MCU will consider Celine again to sing a soundtrack to one of their future superhero movies.
Celine Dion. QUEEN of Movie Theme Songs!
To anyone who can give me the most honest answer, at this rate, is it possible that Ashes by Celine Dion can enter into the US Billboard Hot 100 next week (not this coming Monday but on May 14)?
im asking for an honest answer so that if it will, i will be able to start to be happier. If not, then its ok. Im already happy from the attention it got since its release
And im just gonna ask the following too:
-Spotify streaming numbers of Beauty and The Beast now, which was 18,022,000 as of September 2016. just curious if the live BATB movie made a huge impact on the song's streaming numbers.
- total eas/cspc of How Does A Moment Last Forever. I really dont care how small it is. I just really want to know.
-Based on Anthony Blanchard's November 2, 2016 post, Encore Un Soir song had 500,000 eas/cspc, ranked #13 best selling Celine Dion french singles and #47 if english singles are included. May i know its current total eas/cspc?
-Lastly, im confused why Tell Him only has 3,180,000 on Celine's article but has 5,830,000 on Barbra's article. How do you count song collaborations again? and was i right when i said Tell Him sold more than When You Believe as well as based on eas/cspc?
No chances. Itunes is irrelevant, in spotify it didn't appear even in top 200 and any significant radio airplay.
I see. I hope a miracle will happen but thank you for your honest answer.
Why is "to love you more" on the orphan album when it's in the falling into you album?
- WHere is the "your light" song?
- Ashes will possibly have the biggest equivalent album sales on the Celine Dion's orphan album list, prolly before May 2018 ends. 🙂
As for TLYM
37 1997 To Love You More [Let’s Talk About Love] – 620,000
The song is credited into LTAL?! and only 620k?! The song push The color of my love (special edition) into a million album in Japan! It must be added at least one million eas
