- According to Soundscan, TAST album has sold more albums than Mariah's MC album for the last 2 years in the USA by more than 10,000 per year. Does Soundscan only count physical albums sales or they include digital album sales too? And did TAST sell more pure albums than the MC album for the last 2 years worldwide-wise?

- EAS-wise and based on sales/streaming for the last 10 years, has IACBTMN been selling/streaming better than TPOL? And if yes, how many years will IACBTMN outsell TPOL to become Celine's #3 best selling single? oh and please also include comparison based on digital single sales only.

- Lastly, is FIY album doing better on albums sales, digital single sales and streaming than Shania Twain's Come On Over album for the past few years?

Yes it is! Sales are hard to tell for Asian-only releases, but it would be in the 10-25,000 units range.

I have a question. Why is it that in Europe, big Divas such as Celine, Mariah, Whitney has mostly poor singles chart performance at the European hot 100 charts, but strong album sales. Isn't it supposed to be that strong singles would result in strong album sales?

Unlike in the US, European charts never combined airplay plus CDs were cheap at the time, so when an artist had even a small amount of artistic credibility, (s)he was able to sell albums. As a result, one-hit wonders were the ones performing the best on European singles charts since they were the ones selling physical singles. If you check Top 10s from that era, you will see mostly dance / europop acts that most of us forgot about since then!

Ic. But how is it possible that some singers such as Madonna, Eminem, Britney Spears, etc. They managed to chart pretty well on the European charts and also did well on the album front. Are they more of an overall sellers across several formats?

Madonna used to have a large European fanbase which collected her singles, also she performed very well in the UK. But even for her, if you take off her leads, you will notice her results are as good as it seems. Leads still sold well, because they weren't eaten but album. Europop was dead in early late 90s and Eminem / Britney were young artists, their releases were also well structured with singles getting out at the same time everywhere which was perfect for European points system.

You may notice the the 216:172 ratio is similar to 22:17 ratio which is the number of YouTube views in millions she got in both countries since the start of the year. I suppose that lets little doubts to how they built that number!

Usually in wiki, album sales is referring to pure and digital album sales. If record sales is used, it refers to total album sales plus total singles sales. For units sales, maybe it's total album sales plus total singles sales plus ringtones sales plus EAS on music streaming services. Just a guess.
