Wanted to point out that BTS has only one 'Best of' album till date, "Best of BTS" which is a Japanese release
Does Spotify filter total streams too? I don’t think they do. So why isn’t MelOn a good metric? It’s the most used music plataform in South Korea.
It's not the most significant however. MelOn filters very little and in turn, overexaggerates the totals.
MelOn also has a huge bias because they have many controversies with other groups and artists.
The filtering on melon is definitely way worse than spotify considering the ridiculous streams some songs get while being a local platform vs a global one.
Also, melon doesnt even have that much of a marketshare lead over genie yet the streams are doubled or tripled there. That says a lot about their relevance
MOTS: Persona being the best selling album is unsurprising. But I didn't know Wings was their 2nd best selling album.
Their pure units total for all countries is 31.7m. Nearly 24m of those came from Asia, predominantly Korea.
They will have 4 ten million from both mots, wings and Be in some years. If next one is priced as BE ( 50 dollars ), that will too touch ten million in some years, but pure sales will be like 4 to 4.5 milliom. But if it has 4 version and priced around mots ( 20 usd plus ), they might get 5th ten million sooner in a year with pure sales around 6 million, seeing their fd growth. And album will be theirs first to cross 10 million EAS in a year
They Will have best 2022 selling album , as they are releasing in January , if we go by rumors and they add like 3 million pure sales in catalog every year. Add japan release and their stream equivalent. Noone gonna beat them in 2022. But i think , BTS is now gonna be artist to release one main album every year, seeing 2021.
They are not nct who has no control and where 100 groups are labeled as one lol. BTS signed new contract on their own terms, with great profit sharing and decision making power. As they will focus more on touring. Where they earn actual money besides their tens of endorsement deals. And 100 million club is coming too. Hate their fans all u want or call them inorganic , 100 million club in 9 years is amazing feat, which took coldplay like 20 years. As asian, i am proud of them. The hate they get from westerners is pathetic. Well surprise for them 3 markets in top 7 markets are asian countries. And even if they never peak again, their catalog will keep selling over the decade.
Yeah I'm pretty confident that they're going to get into the 100 million club by the end of next year considering that they're already at 80M WITHOUT counting the sales from this year since their sales are not up-to-date and were last updated before butter.

They must be around 83 to 85 million, when we add butter cd's sales, Japanese album, catalog sales.
Hi, i noticed that QQ music streams were included (from china) but not Netease' numbers, do you know where can i find BTS' streams for netease pls? and i wanted to know if its true that not all BTS' songs are available on QQ (their korean catalog) bc i read a lot of people saying this, thank you
I think it will be just before their next album release. They did this update right before Butter. So they will have sales from 'BTS, the Best', the Butter single album, Butter, PTD, and My Universe to contend for on top of the monstrous back catalogue.
not to mention the massive success of Butter, PTD, and My Universe on streaming services.
are their japanese albums all in orphan releases or disregarded? i hope they aren't disregarded because if so theres plent of data and sales thrown out the window.
This articles deserves update! They sold like 16 or 17 million EAS in 2021 alone. In 2022 with proper album( investor report of hybe mentioned target is 5.4 million for upcoming album ), catalog sales, japanese release. Their physicals will be well over 10 million this year. And they add over 10 million EAS from streams downloads. And now chinese dl weightage will add more too
20 million EAS for 2022 will be huge, as in 2021 they pulled such huge numbers without any korean album. 100 million club is sure deal before 2023!
Btw congrats BTS as persona joined 10 million EAS club! Their first album to do so. And soon many will join. And by end of decade, i can see them as one of few artists in history to have atleast ten albums over ten million EAS! And the other albums numbers don't include millions of physical catalog sales over last ten months which they sold. That means every album above actual number is more than current mentioned above.
Wings, Mots7 and BE will join too this year, as they are on same numbers. But i guess dynamite will push BE first to ten million! 4 albums over 10 million by this year 2022 end. And if next one smashes, they will have 5 albums over 10 million EAS by next year spring 2023.
Her and tear will take time to reach that ten million club though, but they will become 6th and 7th to reach it by 2025 late. Answer will reach that number by end of 2020s decade at late most. Their 8th album to do so. And i am not factoring future releases of 2023 and further. So it looks sure to me, unless they stop releasing or disband.
Hi admins i have a question! You excluded 2 million dvd sales because it doesn't have music. But in one direction article you added documentary dvd sales ( unless it has songs. Correct me sir if i m Wrong ). So shouldn't be BTS's non music dvds be counted too?
Exactly. For what I have seen, some releases of them since 2018 aren’t on QQ Music but on NetEase only because of one agreement made by BigHit and NetEase. Shouldn’t NetEase be counted too?

The agreement for NetEase makes them eligible for sales there, not for freemium streams. These are already considered on their sales.
