Taylor should be above Rihanna and Coldplay, she released multiple albums since her last update.
They are very successful, congratulations to them! Question - maybe you can update your best-sellers of the decade list, seeing they've leaped quite far up the rank?

merci!
Isn't that the whole point???NO ONE listens to ANY artists entire discography except for the stans. Unless it's a hit viral song and mainly english.
I guess you can't seem to understand on how a non-english act can attract this much loyal listeners who seem to genuinely care about their music.
Obvoiously they have a much bigger share of "stan streams" than your average western artist as shown by their monthly listener count and the huge reduction % of their streams on spotifycharts.
But does it really matter as long as they have a dedicated enough fanbase to give them massive numbers anyways?
Also we tend to focus too much on the west I think. In most of Asia they are no doubt very popular outside of their core fanbase to as shown by Dynamite's incredible run in Japan for example.
I m not questioning you. But i got this update that new Gaon numbers for BTS's downloads only in korea
1. BTS - 31,763,753
Means their downloads numbers are not just 36 million by now. Must be around 50 million? Can you update?
Hi Bill!
South Korean downloads are factored in up to the end of 2017. After that, the market was near 0 there (to be exact, 9 million tracks were sold in a year, all artists included). The thing is that Gaon shows "downloads" for songs that users download in their PC as part of subscriptions, including streaming accounts. With this in mind, BTS number involves 20.55 million downloads in SK and 15.55 million elsewhere, led by the US (6.24m), China (3.17m) and Japan (2.52m).
Fans are what drives an artist to a long career. Having a fanbase dedicated enough to still consistantly stream songs released in 2013 is a huge accomplishment that many people actively hate on BTS for. How many artists have a massive amount of fans listening to songs older than 5 years on a daily basis? BTS works hard, they are consistantly releasing content for fans from behind the scenes videos to a long running variety show. They sell out massive stadiums around the world as the only act. The larger they get the more people want to hate on them. Its the way people are, they want to hate on what is popular. Like the way people take a weird pride in hating on starbucks.
Yes, they are like Taylor Swift, they have a very dedicated fan base. Few artists have that.
Their new japan best has sold over 830k in a week on oricon and will be over million by year end on oricon and add billboard foreign sales, 1.2 million outselling last year's one. If they keep multiple versions of next comeback at same price of mots7 ( not BE which was so expensive), and add streaming of new as well old releases, along with strong numbers from butter and dynamite, they gonna be like 82 to 85 million by this year end alone.
They can be at 100 million by start of 2023. In less than 10 years of debut. Fastest artist to debut in 21st century to reach 100 million. Billboard reported in april, dynamite was 2nd best selling song of world . If they get 2 songs in ifpi top 10, it gonna be amazing feat. Thing is they are doing good in west, but dominating east so much, setting records in japan,. dominating korea and butter is number on new charts launched by india. Amazing stats!
ONE QUESTION SIR? BUTTER CD SINGLE Which has 2 songs but costs 26 dollars. How you gonna weigh it?
Will you count it fully album considering the high price? Ifpi will count it for physical single or album? Bcoz album costs way more than western albums lol.
Its first day sales are huge for 2 singles album!
Hanteo Realtime @ 8:20PM KST
'Butter (CD)' — 1,441,854 copies sold
Then explain where 20 million new fans have come from since dynamite?
I'll wait...
I rather have a fanbase which attends 1.3 million online concerts over 2 days show grossing 70 million usd and other tens of millions in merchandise than so called gp support
After reading this article a few times...
Wouldn't it be smarter to use MelOn streams for South Korea instead of Genie?
I mean, i think it represents their popularity the best. They have over 10 billion streams on MelOn yet roughly surpassing 2 billion on Genie.
Melon does not filter inorganic streams that's why it's wise to use Genie instead
