MJD, Can you post the Listen's sales breakdown? I know it is a huge catalog seller but i'm very surprised with this huge number.

Listen – 5,690,000

Its not really massively overrated. Based on the data Beyonce sells more per era and #1s than almost every late 90s, early 2000s artist. The only one who sells more per era with less #1s is Adele. Think about others with 10 plus #1s who canabalize their sales with so much output.

Also consider consider fact Beyonce has been absent from pop radio for a decade now. If she wanted more smash hits on par with Halo, she could do it.

Where can I find the pure & streaming sales combined for the singles page? Where does it show Halo selling 17 million streaming equivalent singles?

Sorry to say this but I'd put Britney and Rihanna over Beyonce as the bigger music artists. Yes Beyonce can sing and dance better than Britney and Rihanna but even Madonna outshone the Vocal Female Trinity by a huge mile.

Pure album sales
Bney: 76,380,000
Bey: 35,500,000
Rih: 33,100,000

EAS
Bney: 100,827,000
Rih: 86,846,000
Bey: 74,052,000

Beyonce may have bigger networth and more successful tours but Britney is good at it too. Rihanna may not have impressive number but she has the highest number of platinum singles and 14 #1 singles in the US Billboard Hot 100.

Beyonce gets more significant awards like Grammys but Britney and Beyonce has more impressive records.

It's not too late for me to change my opinion though since Beyonce will still release more albums in the future, same with Rihanna. As for Britney, she may sell less but she already had enough sales that will be difficult to be reach by Bey and Rih.

It's funny when someone try to put down Beyonce's impact in music just looking for album or single sales and ignoring all the other spheres involved in this haha. But keep trying, buddy. After Lemonade Era and Beychella there is not much to discuss about this. 🙂

It's always a shame when some people feel the need to be insulting. I suggest if you have such information then create your own site and be open for the opinion of others.

It's really not that cut and dry. Britney has 9 albums Rihanna has 8. Bey 6. Britney benifited greatly from a peak in physical sales and tappered off. Rih has an iron fist in digital sales. Beyonce pulls from both sectors.

U.S Chart wise:
Britney has 5 #1s. One she shares with Rihanna.
Beyonce-5, recentlty 6
Rihanna- 14

Top 10s
Britney- 13
Beyonce- 18
Rihanna- 31

Top 40s
Britney- 27
Beyonce- 39
Rihanna- 51

The results are almost similar worldwide. Again. I am not even sure why Britney continues to be interjected into the conversation. She has lagged behind other pop artists for the last decade.

I dont think Britneys 100 million is unattainable. Her catalog is weak in sales and streams. Beyonce has decade old songs and albums that pop up on the charts sporadically. Rihanna continues to have a presence on radio and the growing dominance streaming.

Curent Spotify popularity
Britney- 190th
Beyonce- 40th
Rihanna- 14th

Youtube -
Britney- 61st
Beyonce- 15th
Rihanna- 6th

Hi KantClark!

It's one of these tracks that got insane South Korean sales! They are often downgraded because it got two versions running and selling very well for many years. Its 5 main identified sales avenues are:
- SK (DLs only) - 1700k
- JP (RTs) - 350k
- US (DLs) - 875k
- US (RTs) - 500k
- UK (DLs) - 410k

It gets slightly over 200k from CA+Oz+Fr+Ge+It. Then the rest comes from calculations as per market sizes. As you can expect, it uses extensively ringtones sales from that era, especially in SK which fuels its results since RTs were healthy there too!

Hi Stephon!

Halo sales are:
- 120,000 CDs
- 13,120,000 DLs
- 591,000 Streaming Equivalent Album, which is 5,910,000 singles if we use the strandard 150:1 ratio

I have a question regarding Lemonade sales. Something feels a bit strange and I am glad you can clarify.

At the end of the 2016 you said Lemonade sold 2,5M (on par with the IFPD report) and I assume sales=shipments at that point, 8 months later from the release. In the breakdown she sold a ratio less than 2:1 USA vs rest of the World (1,6 vs 0,9).

Since then she add 300k in the USA, but only 70K in the rest of the world, a ratio more than 4:1. She constantly keeps good positions in the Itunes charts in a lot of countries including big ones like UK/CAN/AUS. I know that in most countries means almost nothing, but all things considered it seems strange.

What I am missing? It is posible you understimate a little bit her sales because bad chart-runs (caused by lack of streaming)?

Thanks in advance 😉

Why in the Lady Gaga article did you put Telephone her third best selling song with 4,430,000 and in Beyonce it is the tenth most sold song with only 1,720,000?

Britney's 100million eas is kind of unattainable (but maybe not on Rih's case)because Rihanna would need to release 2-3 more albums (based on anti's total cspc) to possibly surpass Britney's numbers, which Britney may have release one more album.

Based on lemonade total eas, I dont think Beyonce can surpass Britney's total eas. Bey would need to release prolly 4-5 more albums to outEAS Britney. Its just a long time to predict Bey can surpass Britney's numbers so it's safe to say Bey wont reach Britney's eas numbers.

We cant predict the future or what each lady will release. But data tells us that Beyonce has an average eas over her 6 eras that outpaces Britneys 9. Yes sales are falling but the growth in streaming shouldnt be underestimated and do add up over time. Again, Britneys catalog and newer singles have been moving slow vs Beyonces and Rihanna's. At this point its futile for Britney to keep releasing albums that do half the total of the last. Brings her average and legacy down.

Antis last update was at 5.2 million. Maybe we can say 5.5 now. Meanwhile Lemonade is estimated at 4.3 million. Thats not a wide margin considering Beyonce only had a one week top 10 from the album and limited radio support.

I just don't see much indication pointing at Beyonce not being able to do another 25 million within the next 5-10 years. If she gains pop support back there would be no question.
