Hi Betty!
It has been corrected a few minutes ago, so the figures in Adele's article are ok now. For top albums we will have to wait tomorrow the global update.
There are several female artists way ahead of Adele as far as commercial success goes. And ya Madonna will remain untouchable for a very long long time.
Wow, what a woman! Proof that you don't need gimmicks and booty-shaking and teen-bopper music to sell records as a woman. She let's the music speak for her, and the people connect with it! That's why she's way ahead of these so called "music industry queens" whose names I don't need to mention.
Adele's peak of popularity is at the same level as Michael Jackson's peak was.
Na even as Adele fan this is not true. Her peak can be compared with whitney but Mj was household name in my home asian country where adele is not famous. Not even madonna beatles adele can match that level. Just that i am glad my fave is not a predator
Other need to sell pr articles calling them music industry. Adele does it without pr. Adele plans to go full on tour this time. If she goes stadium, she gonna set venue record everywhere like she did with stadium dates of last tour ( sold nearly million tickets from 13 dates, which weren't reported officialy and grossed 100 million ). She can tour countries where swift can never. Her reach is way more. Last time she had 10 million ticket demand in america alone. Hoping she does full stadium tour this time, because she can sell tickets in minutes
I was in my twenties, when Michael Jackson hit through. I followed list closely and read much. I have experience.
I am talking about peak popularity. Mjs craze is different even till to this day. The barriers he broke for people of color and reached markets where even beatles didnt reach.
I agree Michael's peak is unmatched but longevity wise, The Beatles will surpass any legacy acts. They're still shifting huge quantities of albums per year and are ahead of other legacy acts in streams, only behind by Queen. Michael broke racial barriers. Beatles revolutionised music.
