10-12M pure sales when hits 1M already is a HUGE accomplishment? Please, don’t be delusional!!!!
This is about all the combined data from physical units all the way to streaming. Streaming is a fairly new factor yet it has already made a huge impact. It's very clear that you are in your 30s or 40s considering people like you love to complain about modern life that you don't know were able to help you.
How m i delusional? Nov dec peak sales season and half of 25. 25 sold 60% of 21. If next sells half of 25, it is over 10 million. With streaming she can do overall 20 million sps by 2022 end.
Adele can do amazing on streaming.
I think you are right. If anyone can achieve 10 mln in pure sales at all, it will be Adele. However, the album must be good and the whole campaign must click.
I see a pattern with 21 and 25. She went inactive for 4 years with 21 until 25. She's rumoured to release her album this month so that's a whole 6 years inactivity from 25.
Reports says 25 type promotion is planned for next. And last time promo was on spot. Adele's fansbase is tv watching audience mostly and youth streams her. So she clicks on both front. Just need a hello type smash!
If these numbers are correct, do you think it proves that the compilation Stop the Clocks (2006) have affected MG's sales enough to re-allocate about 60 or 70 per cent of its sales to Morning Glory, as this website does? I mean, sales are going down fast from 2005 to 2006, but 2005 was extraordinary good, and the market as a whole was declining those years.
So easy on me coming soon. And if it smashes both on sales and streaming. If song connects like hello, She can do 20 million sps ( 10 million pure sales or even more as Xmas sales boost ) or even more, if it shatters streaming numbers. That will take her total to 110 to 115 million plus and with catalog streams, sales. She will be over 120 million plus by 2024. That is like an average of 30 million per era. Just incredible. She does it so casually lol! Actually the true music industry without effort and pr!
It will certainly be interesting to see how the new material does. I have a sneaking suspicion she may have waited too long for the album to be a hit on anything like the same scale as her previous two. Also, the physical music market (her major strength previously) has truly collapsed since '25' was released in 2015. We'll see how much traction she gets on streaming services and if this can make up some of the difference...
I think she will become a streaming force as from the perspective of my own life a lot of young people have been rediscovering her in anticipation of her new album and i’ve never met anyone under 40 who doesn’t like her. But that might just be in my life
I think whilst her physical sales will be incredible (the biggest of the year), they will be a lot lower than expected, but she will transfer to streaming massively
I think she will be a monster on streaming this era. Her previous albums have big numbers and still great daily gains. That being said, without the physical sales market, this is likely going to be a big drop off in sales for her.
I remember a few years ago MJD wrote an article that predicted where she will likely end up in overall SPS, and I think the most likely scenario was in the 15-17M range for the album.
I agree. I really can't see 10M pure sales happening like the previous user suggested. I think 5M would be considered huge in today's market. Also because streams take longer to accumulate than sales, It will take years to really see how big the album will be in the end.
That was 3 years ago though. I'm not sure if it gained or lost. But surely it'll get 17m EAS in a short time
