Streaming Masters – Eminem

Not many gave him much credit when he debuted. More than 20 years later, Eminem is far and away the greatest selling artist of the world since he first started.

His next target is to reach the Top 10 acts of all-time, a goal which is more and more within’ his reach thanks to his unbelievable streaming numbers listed below.

Eminem streaming review – the method

Streaming is made up of audio and video streams. Our CSPC methodology now includes both to better reflect the real popularity of each track. The main source of data for each avenue is respectively Spotify and YouTube.

To factor in the growing impact of multiple Asian countries where these platforms aren’t always the go-to site for music streaming, more sources have been added.

In order to account for their real popularity in each relevant country, the below sources have been used along with the mentioned ratios that reflect the market share of each area.

Audio Streams
– South Korea : Genie streams * 3.05 (consistent with Gaon streaming numbers)
– Japan : AWA streams * 100/5.5 (AWA has 5.5% of the Japanese streaming market)– Elsewhere : Spotify streams * (370 – 8.5 – 9.5 – 33 – 9) / 207 (370 million global subscribers minus 8.5 million from South Korea minus 9.5 million from Japan minus 33 million from China divided by the number of Spotify only users minus 9 million more Asian users) + Genie streams * 3.05 (uses Genie rather than Spotify to extrapolate markets like Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam)

Video Streams– China* : QQ video streams * 50 if the song is available for audio stream, QQ video streams * 5 elseway (scale built based on known figures for several major artists)– Elsewhere : Youtube views

*since 96.4% of Chinese streaming platforms are free users, that paid-for users pay less than $2 a month and that they are also used as video streaming platforms, their streams are weighted on par with YouTube streams.

Audio Stream value – 1500 plays equal 1 album unit
Video Stream value – 11,750 views equal 1 album unit

Equivalent Albums Sales (EAS) = ( Spotify * 310/207 + Genie * 3.05*2 + AWA * 100/5.5 ) / 1500 + ( QQ views* 50(or 5) + YouTube ) / 11750

Eminem truly one of a kind artist. Added over 10m eas in 2 years off streaming alone. His numbers are already sick but imagine if streaming was around for his peak

Does comprehensive stream include numbers from pandora…?!

Chloraseptic remix?

This is not the legal version of Lose Yourself ! Delete the link and wait the legal version.
Support the musician!

It doesn’t really matter. If you upload a video to YouTube using copyrighted music it will either get shut down or the label will let you keep the video up, but they will get all the ad revenue from it, which is the case of the Lose Yourself video.

correction, where is killshot ( 100m + 250m) ?

sorry my bad did not see it

One correction, kill for you has almost 20 million streams on youtube, but here it says 0.

Stephon Jackson

He’s the most commercially successful rapper of all time.

by a large margin. 🙂

Second only to the amazing Vanilla Ice.

Cant believe he outstreamed somebody like Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga considering that both of them started much later than he did.

Eminem streaming numbers are pretty awesome if we consider he is 46 years old, i dont know if there are a similar case in the music industry, but he has adjusted very well to the new music formats. Meanwhile Lady Gaga streaming numbers are very low if you compare with similar artists such as Kate Perry.

Taylor took out her discography from Spotify in 2014 her peak until now and only put back in June 2017. The comparison doesn’t make sense with her and half of her discography is country music which is not good at streaming.

Eminem is truly the “rap god” and nobody can take it away from it. Drake is the deserving rap music artist to be the closest to his success. And Nicki is the “rap queen”.

Listening “Til I Collapse” since I haven’t heard that song yet and surprised to see it being the second most streamed song.

Also, I would also consider “Lose Yourself” as the best rap song ever.

Holy shit!
