NORTHEN EUROPE – NORWAY
Once again the information from Britney.com reveals many more details than data known up to now. Both BOMT and Oops are officially Platinum in Norway, representing 50,000 units sold. In reality, their sales are far from being close as BOMT did just over that mark while Oops instead almost went 2xP. This is confirmed by weekly charts as BOMT peaked at #5, charting for 27 weeks while Oops topped charts during a 36 week chart run.
Similarly Greatest Hits clearly did better than In The Zone on the charts in spite of the same official certification. We can see thanks to Britney.com awards that Greatest Hits is indeed a bigger seller.
Merging all the data together concludes on the following album sales to date:
- Baby One More Time – 55,000
- Oops!… I did It Again – 95,000
- Britney – 30,000
- In The Zone – 25,000
- Greatest Hits, My Prerogative – 35,000
- Blackout – 5,000
- Circus – 5,000
- The Singles Collection – N/A
Hi MJD what was the biggest Janet Jackson’s era in Europe in your opinion globally? Here in France it was clear that it was during the Velvet Rope she was everywhere and did 4 or 5 sold out concert in 1998

Isn’t 1xP=40k for foreign artists since 2002/01 to 2008/01
Until 12/1999, 1xP=100.000 in Nertherlands. BOMT is officially certified 3xP, why did you use the criteria since 12/1999 to 12/2005, which equals to 240.000? (I am talkin about official awards)
The level of awards in the Netherlands is based on date of certification rather than on date of release. BOMT was certified for 200k (2xP) in 1999 and 240k (3xP) in 2000.
