The truth about Britney Spears’ album sales in Europe


A pretty obscure market in spite of the availability of a Top 100 Album Chart nowadays, the numerous changes of levels with low numbers provide us very detailed data about Britney‘s albums sales there.

With a market size at almost half of the Austrian one by 1998, and a third of it by 2005, figures from this table are fairly in line with her results in remaining Central Europe countries.

Merging all the data together concludes on the following album sales to date:

  • Baby One More Time – 30,000
  • Oops!… I did It Again – 35,000
  • Britney – 17,500
  • In The Zone – 12,500
  • Greatest Hits, My Prerogative – 12,000
  • Blackout – 5,000
  • Circus – 6,000
  • The Singles Collection – N/A

Hi MJD what was the biggest Janet Jackson’s era in Europe in your opinion globally? Here in France it was clear that it was during the Velvet Rope she was everywhere and did 4 or 5 sold out concert in 1998

Isn’t 1xP=40k for foreign artists since 2002/01 to 2008/01


Until 12/1999, 1xP=100.000 in Nertherlands. BOMT is officially certified 3xP, why did you use the criteria since 12/1999 to 12/2005, which equals to 240.000? (I am talkin about official awards)
