CENTRAL EUROPE – GERMANY
The main information coming out of Britney.com ‘s pages refers to In The Zone, which is confirmed as a Platinum-eligible album. Our estimates had it already over the 200,000 units level, although it may still be a bit lower than 230,000 copies sold given Platinum wasn’t crossed by 2006.
The remaining certifications stand as expected. Oops hasn’t sold that much after being certified at 900,000 units, which means the 3xP award most likely came at the end of 2001, although the German database doesn’t specify the exact certification date, only the year. The estimations for various albums, including Blackout at just under 100,000 units, appear to be spot on.
Merging all the data together concludes on the following album sales to date:
- Baby One More Time – 875,000
- Oops!… I did It Again – 975,000
- Britney – 375,000
- In The Zone – 215,000
- Greatest Hits, My Prerogative – 150,000
- Blackout – 90,000
- Circus – 125,000
- The Singles Collection – 25,000
Hi MJD what was the biggest Janet Jackson’s era in Europe in your opinion globally? Here in France it was clear that it was during the Velvet Rope she was everywhere and did 4 or 5 sold out concert in 1998

Isn’t 1xP=40k for foreign artists since 2002/01 to 2008/01
Until 12/1999, 1xP=100.000 in Nertherlands. BOMT is officially certified 3xP, why did you use the criteria since 12/1999 to 12/2005, which equals to 240.000? (I am talkin about official awards)
The level of awards in the Netherlands is based on date of certification rather than on date of release. BOMT was certified for 200k (2xP) in 1999 and 240k (3xP) in 2000.
