  1. And what about the other data article about the best selling albums EAS/Pure????

    Adele´s 21 is a big thing, but 40+M???

    It´s like comparing MJ´s Thriller 116M versus 65M

      1. By this 2010´s Album ranking , Adele´s 21 has 40+M, but on the best selling album list by your data of raw sales, there is: 13. 2011 – Adele – 21 – 29,900,000
On the wery same list there is MJ´s Thriller with 65M

And, of course, on the ALBUMS RANKING – CSPC – OVERALL SALES list, there is: 20. 2011 – Adele – 21 – 41,716,000

The point is, on this 2010´s album list, there must have been the overall sales, not the raw sales.
That´s why raw sales and overall sales are not the same.

  2. And what about the other artists from Asia, especially from Japan selling millions of records?
Why only US/UK artists? Are they the whole world? Is the US/UK the whole world?
    A bit unfair…

    1. Hi Brandon!

Requests are mostly for global acts, but we aren’t excluding remaining acts at all! We compiled Enrique Iglesias and Shakira to see their early Spanish albums and recently the French legend Renaud was studied too. We will likely study Helene Fischer (from Germany) at some point as well.

Asian acts are highly interesting. Ayumi Hamasaki, B’z, AKB48, Hikaru Utada, I already worked on their album sales in the past. The main issue in order to compile a CSPC article about them is the streaming section, which is used to distribute sales of compilations over their studio albums. Since Spotify isn’t used on most Asian countries, it is almost impossible so far to accurately compile their article. I’m still pending a valid solution to be able to work on them ASAP!

  3. Wait. Your first update for Beyoncé self-titled album was 8M last year. ST stands at 11M-12M SPS. But somehow you have lower it’s units?! Everyone else gets a boost but Beyoncé, her numbers drop. So full of it.

    1. I think you are mistaken. The old update had Bey/DC at the following figures. To the right are the new figures w/ the new formula.

      Destiny’s Child: 3,239,000 —>3,264,000
The Writing’s On The Wall: 17,791,000—>17,931,000
      Survivor: 14,225,000—>14,498,000
      Destiny Fulfilled: 8,224,000—>8,529,000
      Dangerously In Love: 14,641,000—>15,561,000
      B’Day: 11,150,000—>12,585,000
      I Am…Sasha Fierce: 14,670,000—>16,935,000
      4: 6,853,000—>7,818,000
      BEYONCE: 7,267,000—>7,902,000
      Lemonade: 3,497,000—>3,817,000

Note: these stats are 1 year outdated.

    1. Yes the title is incorrect but in the second sentence of the article he says the “2010s”. The title needs to be changed

    1. Lemonade moved too few album equivalents to figure on the list. It didn’t make the cut-off. It would probably appear if the list was extended to a top 65.
