At the peak of downloads nobody could stop Rihanna. Unapologetic was already her seventh album when at this stage most acts are way past their peak. She was still recording hits with ease. Diamonds sold near 10 million units worldwide while Stay is close to 8 million. The rest of the era wasn’t as strong but the job was already done with 3,8 million equivalent album sales, almost the same tally as the original album sales.
Ironically, ANTI too reproduced in downloads and ringtones the same total as in pure album sales, which is surprising giving the very different era. Downloads dropped by 50% from 2012 to 2016, so the 3,65 million sales of Work are fairly massive nowadays. We also need to consider that unlike the singles from previous albums it had no time to amass catalog sales. Slowly but surely Needed Me and Love On The Brain sold well also.
