BRUNO MARS CAREER CSPC RESULTS
So, after checking all the figures, how many overall equivalent album sales has each album by Bruno achieved? Well, at this point we hardly need to add up all of the figures defined in this article!
In the following table, all categories display figures that way, e.g. in equivalent album sales. For example, singles from Doo-Wops & Hooligans released in digital format sold the equivalent of 8,055,000 albums – 53,700,000 downloads with a 10 to 1,5 weighting.
As a reminder:
- Studio Album: sales of the original album
- Other Releases: sales of compilations generated thanks to the album
- Physical Singles: sales of physical singles from the album (ratio 3/10)
- Download Singles: sales of digital singles from the album (ratio 1,5/10)
- Streaming: equivalent album sales of all the album tracks (ratio 1/1500 for Audio stream and 1/11750 for Video stream)
As the ultimate evidence of Bruno‘s groundbreaking success, the average equivalent album sales of his first two albums, 15,886,000, is just over the biggest success of Taylor Swift‘s career, 1989. Yes, he is that big.
While Adele is in a league of her own, among humans Bruno is definitely a part of the leading pack. In fact, among records issued this decade, only her albums top by some margin the immense result of nearly 18 million achieved by Doo-Wops & Hooligans. That album enters in a race against Katy Perry‘s Teenage Dream, Ed Sheeran‘s X and the Frozen Soundtrack to achieve third place, currently occupied Teenage Dream but seriously challenged by Ed thanks to his outstanding catalog sales this year.
24K Magic isn’t done yet though. With already 5,65 million equivalent album sales it should still be regarded as a solid effort in the long run.
What about the Orphan tracks? They include true blockbusters in the digital field. Those songs are so strong that even without album sales to account for they still break the 10 million overall figure. With albums released at the fall of 2010, 2012 and 2016 while Uptown Funk smashed the fall of 2014, one may wonder how strong would sales of a Bruno album have been with this song as a lead single. No disrespect to the truly talented Mark Ronson, but no doubt this scenario would have brought even more success overall to this song than it already has.
In spite of a tiny catalog, Bruno already has a stunning total of 47,7 million equivalent album sales. That’s more than Rihanna and One Direction this decade with less releases. Considering his ongoing sales on every front, we won’t have time to enjoy the new NBA season in full before the total of 50 million will be reached.
The following pages list his most successful songs as well as his records and achievements.
