Dropping albums at an incredible pace, whilst still a teen, Miley Cyrus had already released 8! studio albums by her 18th birthday. Those LPs sold a solid 21 million units, more than 2,5 million per release but also more than 4 million per season.
Securing a solid consistency until The Time of Our Lives, the success started to fade away with both 2010 respective eras. It was the end of the Hannah Montana TV series, as well as the end for Miley Cyrus the teenager as she entered full adulthood. She went on to remain out of the spotlight for a few years.
If one was to bet, not many would have put money on Miley returning like she did. A former Disney star that started to struggle, as well as remain out of the spotlight for two years, wasn’t expected to mark a huge come back. This thinking was shattered with the gigantic hype she created with the 2013 release of Bangerz. The album became a strong – in this day and age – 2,1 million seller.
In 2015 Miley released a new album titled Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. As this album was released for free on Soundcloud, it has low sales. It began to sell some copies a month ago after arriving on iTunes. For this reason, this album will be considered as Orphan rather than a proper studio release.
