Next CSPC Artists – Vote for yours! [CLOSED]

Selection ....

It’s time to make your choice!

This article is a very simple one, presenting you 3 polls in order to select which artists, depending on their discography size – and the time it requires us to work on it! – you would like to be studied soon.

Some artists in the next few weeks are already scheduled, leading us to mid-April. During that time, you can vote for the artists you would like to see next! No more talk, just votes 😉

  1. Voted for Calvin, P!nk and MJ.

Would be incredibly interesting to see if MJ could challenge The Beatles and how much he’s done on CSPC.

P!nk has been active and successful during the physical, digital and streaming era, so I Would be curious to see how she performs with the CSPC formulas.

As for Calvin he’s had several hit singles for years now but not so great albums sales, so I Wonder how it would translate in the CSPC field

  2. Mariah is waiting to be treated! I would love if you would also comment on her “special status” in Asia when you analyse her to show that the Asian market was way bigger and overall more important in the 90s for artists like Mariah or Michael Jackson than today.

  3. Voted for Little Mix, P!nk and Michael Jackson.

It’s a real shame you dislike Kylie Minogue so much that she doesn’t even appear on the list… She’s got an interesting career to analyze with your method though.

    1. Hi Mirai!

Definitely no hate against Kylie 😉

There has been no request for her in recent weeks so I simply forgot to include her and she hasn’t pop out of the best selling lists I have.

I’ll most likely be compiling the Top 2/3 artists coming out of each poll. Then, after completing that batch, I’ll re-do a second round of votes, removing acts that got near 0 vote and replacing them with the likes Kylie, Sade, Rod Stewart, Frank Sinatra, Aerosmith etc. As you can see, there is tons of big artists missing still!!!

      1. Oh that’s really good to know!! Thank you for that. I hope people vote for her so that she gets analyzed soon. I’m longing to see what the results would be!

        1. Hi Guilherme!

Supposedly it is over since Miley article got published. She was ahead with roughly 600 votes out of 1,200 four days ago but Twitter went mad this week with more than 10,000 new votes being made and now she is down to 6% of votes only! Since it is my bad as I haven’t close it I’ll let it running until the 10th and do the “new” winning act of the young artists category 😉

  4. I have chosen my favourites, but honestly I wouldn’t complain if you did others. The more the better! I love this blog 🙂

  5. I vote for:

    Miley Cyrus
    Selena Gomez
    Ariana Grande
    Demi Lovato

Those girls are always being compared to each other, so it would be good to take a look at what CM have for them.

+ Jonas Brothers e Hilary Duff if that’s possible

  6. Can you one day do
    Frank Sinatra
    Bing Crosby
    Elvis presley
I can’t find much reliable stats for either of them.

  7. Going with a British trifecta here: Little Mix, Radiohead and Queen. I have others but mostly these since I haven’t really seen a full up to date sales breakdown for them… well moreso the last two.

Others I’d like to see later: RHCP, Janet, Mariah, Alanis, Pink, Usher, No Doubt/Gwen Stefani and MJ.

  8. Hi, I vote for Miley Cyrus! I hope you check her next! If you do, will you include her Hannah Montana soundtracks? She was the only person singing in all of them

    1. I’m wondering this too! Im quite excited to see all the winners…especially Janet Jackson. Ive been waiting for her ever since I started reading this site several months ago haha

  9. Hey MJD, love your site, it’s an encyclopedia!

I’m all for Janet. Hope you’ll analyze her career really soon. 🙂
Apart from her, Ariana, Mariah, MJ…

Anyway, you’re doing an amazing job! 😉

  10. Hi, I write letter here because of No comment box about it.

I’m a big fan of Tahiti 80 and Phoenix.
they are really good rock band(maybe many people think about it)
want to see their sales amount in France.

    thanks.

    1. Hi Ernesto 😉

Whatever happens the Beatles will remain undefeated whatever happens! Both MJ & Elvis will undoubtedly perform extremely well as you can guess! Hopefully both will be covered during the next months although the latter will be a mammoth task!

  11. What about Elton John or Neil Young or Van Morrison, musicians with very extensive discographies through the decades

  12. Other acts you can add in your next poll: Tupac, Tina Turner, Donna Summers, NSYNC and Justin Timberlake, Brandy, The Fugees and Lauryn Hill.

  13. I’d love to read a Streisand CSPC but Dolly Parton has got twice as more listeners per month as her ! As a country music artist, that’s just incredible isn’t it ?
Thank you for your tremendous work!

    1. And sold one percent of barbra’s sales? Listeners, where?the world biggest online music media is itunes, and Barbra is always ranking much higher than Dolly. And Dolly’s famous quote:“There’s only three real female singers; Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt, and Connie Smith. The rest of us are only pretending. …”

  14. Demi, Selena and Ariana are getting expresive vote numbers, you should consider make a CSPC for them. And one time they are young, i guess it’s easier make a study for them.

    1. Hi Michelle!

I’ll be working on all of them at some point for sure, it is more a matter of order especially since many more artists can be done in-between 🙂

  15. If Demi wins, please include Camp Rock 1 & 2 and Sonny With a Chance Soundtracks in the analysys. Even if you not consider for her final totals.

  18. I hope Diana Ross and Tina Turner will be in the next poll. She’s such a legend as well.

Thanks for always doing all of this 🙂

  19. Is it possible to get a Dalida analysis at some point? She has some really hugely inflated figures to her name and I would love to see what her actual career sales look like. I’d to know her best selling song and that stuff. But I think you’ll have trouble estimating her 50s-70s sales…

  20. I was hoping you could do Paula Abdul. I feel her US certs are low, based on her chart performance. She us also missing certs from other countries.
