Shakira (2014) Era
A couple of years after her last single, Shakira dropped a tenth, eponymous album in March 2014. As the lead single, #5 Rihanna duet Can’t Remember To Forget You was already slowing down when the album came out, its debut was one more disappointment. In spite of a quiet period, the album entered at #6 on 10,382 sales, a mere 2% of its immediate predecessor total sales.
Dare (La La La) follow up single was a decent #11 hit that showed some legs but this hasn’t translated into album sales. When the hit peaked, Shakira was way down to #70 and never recovered. This era was pretty much over by then, with the album selling just 50,000 units by the end of the year.
